Friends are not always forever.

Close friendships may not last.

New chapters in life open

And many friends become the past.

We were friends through thick and thin-

At least that's what people say.

We would be seen with each other at night

And together at school everyday.

We have shared many memories-

Some were good and others bad.

Trips to the mall were always fun,

But the broken hearts were sad.

If I ever needed you,

You were always there

To help me with my problems

And to show me that you care.

We belonged together

Like a violin and its bow.

We would help each other out

Against any problem or foe.

I tried to keep our close friendship

But was faced with a defeat.

I tried to keep my spirits up

And looked foward to the people I would meet.

As thoughts of you fill my mind,

Down my cheek, runs a tear.

I want to have our old times back,

I long for you to be near.

Then I look at old pictures

And my eyes are filled with tears.

It's amazing how much things have changed,

After only a few short years.

As I reminisce about the old times

I'm filled with a feeling that's bittersweet.

Though I miss our old get-togethers,

Reliving them is a treat.

Although as time has passed

We have gone our separate ways,

Never will I stop cherishing

Our old, precious days.
